The Miami VA Healthcare System is seeking two full-time vascular surgeon in the Operative Care/Surgical Service at the Miami VA Healthcare System, one of which will be the Chief of Section. The incumbent is expected to have extensive experience in performing open and endovascular procedures, and have experience reading vascular lab studies. Duties for this position will include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. A strong commitment to academic pursuits and clinical or basic research is required; the incumbent's duties will be divided evenly between clinical work and research. Dedicated research time and support to obtain VA grants will be provided. Successful candidates must have credentials to qualify for faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery of the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time VA appointment and, as a minimum, a faculty appointment at the Clinical Assistant Professor level with the University Of Miami School Of Medicine.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
