The VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS), Radiology Department in Surgical Healthcare Group, is accepting Applications/Resumes for Board-Certified Interventional Radiology Physicians to serve as a Radiologist and provide didactic care in the Radiology Department, to include Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, and diagnostic imaging (including fluoroscopy). In addition, responsible for the following:
Supports primary physicians and/or other medical professionals in using diagnostics, Ultrasounds, MRI's, CT's, and interventional procedures and equipment; may be involved in cardiac and interventional imaging; able to adjust to all facets of the Imaging Service for a successful interpretation; and implementation and dictation of imaging exams.
Candidates must be proficient in all aspects of interventional radiology, board-certified in diagnostic radiology, fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology, and share a vision for an integrative and collaborative care model with a multi-disciplinary team. Occasional general diagnostic radiology coverage mandates that the candidate is proficient in all aspects of radiology, to include Computerized Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, and diagnostic imaging (including fluoroscopy).
The VA Long Beach Healthcare system provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient health care services at the medical center in Long Beach and at the four community clinics. VA Long Beach Healthcare System has 237 hospital beds, 85 spinal cord injury (SCI) beds, and 99 nursing home beds.
VA Long Beach is affiliated with the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine. The radiology service has rotating UC-Irvine radiology residents. The candidate is expected to supervise, instruct, and lecture for rotating residents on service.
Education : Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure and Registration : Must have current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Physicians (Except Residents):The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country.
Language Proficiency : Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by Title 38 U.S.C. 7402 and 7405(f).
