Participates in and/or manages all aspects of cardiac patients to include outpatient clinical visits and inpatient visits to the Cardiac Care Unit and inpatient wards and performs standard inpatient cardiology procedures such as insertion of temporary intravenous pacemaker leads and right heart catheterization.
Participates and manages all aspects of standard non-invasive cardiology testing such as EKG, Holter and stress testing.
Takes an active role in the evaluation of the patient, decision for treatment/care, and documentation in the patient electronic records.
Serves on service level and/or hospital committees as needed and participates in the facility peer review program.
Maintains professional competency, courtesy and flexibilityand provides the necessary services of this specialty.

Licensure: Physicians must possess a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency: Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training or its equivalent in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
Board Certified or Board eligible with the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine.
Maintains current ACLS and BLS Certifications.
Proficiency in echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography. Level 3 training and certification in echocardiography preferred.
Proficiency in scholarly participation in research including publications and grant proposal submissions.
Qualifies for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Brown University.
Possesses clinical background in internal medicine, general cardiology, and echocardiography.
