A Research Specialist position is available in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. The lab focuses on the neurobiology of energy balance, with a particular focus on the molecular and neural circuit mechanisms underlying appetite and energy expenditure. The successful candidate will have had significant prior laboratory experience (both in management and experimentation).
This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability and performance.
The successful candidate will manage day-to-day laboratory operations, as well as design and implement experiments critical to the lab including but not limited to molecular cloning, animal work, in vivo imaging, and functional manipulations of neural circuits.
Master's or Professional degree; or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years post-baccalaureate lab experience. The candidate must have significant experience with advanced techniques in neuroscience (stereotaxic mouse surgery, behavior, and immunohistochemistry), as well as excellent organizational skills. Significant experience in molecular biology is desired, but not required.
