Shriners Hospitals for Children-Portlandis recruiting for a Chief of Staff. With a strong legacy of serving children with Orthopedic, Craniofacial and Chest deformities, this individual will play a vital role in expanding and integrating the program within the local and regional market in the context of an ever changing healthcare system. The Portland location has a world renowned clinical staff, education program including affiliation with the neighboring University residency program and a robust basic and clinical research program.
EOS imaging system, fully staffed motion analysis lab, on-site prosthetic and orthotic department.
Physically connected to OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital ICU and pediatric specialists available, basic science research (6 PIs) focusing on developmental biology and collagen disorders
Our strategic plan spanning a 3-5 year period will be to:
Effect, mature and grow a recent collaborative relationship with a local healthcare system, a local and regional major player
The academic and clinical development of faculty, including existing and future members
Development of strong local affiliations
Recruitment of additional faculty
Expand research and partnering research with academic local affiliate
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Board interaction with Shriners Board of Governors
Collaboration with Chairman of Board of Governors, Administrator and Director of Patient Care Services
Develop medical Staff Bylaws and
Cultivating external relationships
Clinical Educational and Research management
Clinical Productivity monitoring and productivity Metrics
Education; Develop and support meaningful integration with affiliated residency and medical school program
Research; Develop and enhance participation in clinical research projects
Informational Management: works in a constructive manner to improve the quality of and implement EMR functionality
Strategic Planning; takes medical staff leadership role in support of hospital strategic planning efforts
Personal Surgical activities; setting an example for excellence in practice
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree (DO)
Orthopedic Surgery residency
Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship
Minimum of 10 years clinical experience with leadership in managing physicians
Demonstrates skill and interest in research and education
Our ideal candidate will have current experience as a leader in an academic and or hospital/clinical environment, known as a strong contributor in research and publications and presentations. Must be a mentor to young attending physicians, fellows and residents.
