The EOHS Division has a dynamic, multi-disciplinary and impactful portfolio of research and service that reflect our values of community engagement and equity. The EOHS Division serves about 90 students in MPH, MS and PhD programs with nine tenure-system faculty, and twice that number of research and clinical faculty. Within the EOHS Division, the Great Lakes Centers support clinical and service programs; the Illinois Education and Research Center supports training, research, outreach and continuing education in a variety of occupational health disciplines; and the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre facilitates global occupational health research and service.
On a day-to-day basis, the Director is responsible for operation of the EOHS Division, which includes, but is not limited to: promoting a collaborative environment that fosters success through strong leadership and shared governance; representing the division at the School and University levels; managing the division's budget, mentoring and facilitating the career advancement of faculty, students, and staff; enhancing excellence in research, teaching and service; and embracing diversity and inclusion. The new leader of the EOHS Division will bring a robust research portfolio, and actively engage in scholarship with the EOHS Division, the UIC SPH and the broader UIC campus. Applicants are expected to have a record of scholarly achievement consistent with appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Professor with tenure.
UIC is one of the most diverse research-intensive universities in the United States, and is designated as a Minority Serving Institution, an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institute, and a Hispanic Serving Institution. The EOHS Division is committed to ensuring access to graduate education for students who are diverse across multiple dimensions, including: race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, disadvantages socioeconomic status, ideas and perspectives. We actively seek applicants who will enrich and contribute to the diversity of the EOHS Division and help us expand the perspectives and experiences we bring to our work.
