The Executive Director (“ED”), as a part of the Management Company, will work with a large multi-specialty physician practice in Boise, Idaho. The ED will work in concert with the physician practice leadership and is responsible for establishing and implementing all policies and procedures of the organization, including strategic planning, financial management, management of information systems, interdepartmental relationships, marketing and public relations, contracting and legal relationships, and human resources. The ED will serve as the primary liaison between physician practice staff, physician owners and the general public.
In cooperation with staff and physician owners, the ED is responsible for implementing the strategic vision and planning of the organization, effectively communicating that plan and actualizing the plan, through the development and implementation of corporate policy and procedures. The ED will work with the physician practice leadership and senior leaders in defining a strategic plan that will strengthen the practice’s position within the market and afford opportunities to increase the group's impact on serving the community and its financial performance. The ED will advise the physician practice leadership with regard to internal and external environmental factors in the healthcare industry, which may have an impact upon the financial and strategic viability of the group.
Location: Boise, Idaho
? Work with the physician practice Board and McKesson to drive strategic, measurable business plans for ongoing core improvements and also new business opportunities
? Work with CFO to translate planned actions, metrics, and timing to deliver clear financial implications for the P&L, cash flow, and capital use along with financial returns and relevant valuation metrics
? Work with the physician practice team to identify, evaluate, high value practices in target locations or where additional practices are needed.
? Help practices assess their markets and strategic opportunities for expansion.
? Assist practices in executing their expansion plans to realize planned revenue and cost synergies
? Identify and review potential acquisitions or de novo expansion opportunities
? Evaluate forecasts, valuations, and range of returns for each potential investment
Set goals for and execute a plan to bring on a specific set of new practices each year
? Lead and manage overall physician practice senior leadership, management and staff, overseeing assignments and determine optimal reporting relationships
? Resolve any administrative problems and keep lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthy work atmosphere
? Be responsible for facilities management as it relates to expansion and/or consolidation, information systems, and communication systems.
? Maintain general oversight of the operations and administrative staff to ensure smooth practice operations and the consistent delivery of quality and efficient work
? Maintain oversight of efforts in facility planning, including patient data and scheduling, patient flow, patient records management, utilization statistics, space planning and use, and staffing
? Be responsible for the preparation of recommendations on specific programs and services, and clinic policies for consideration by the Board of Directors
? Direct the operations of the physician practice by employing a system of accountability to ensure responsible fiscal management including accounting, budgeting, internal controls and timely reporting
? Resolve operational problems and keeps lines of communication open with management and staff to ensure high productivity environment
? Ensure organizational compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies
? Oversee the business and financial affairs of the organization and fiscal management including the accounting, budgeting, internal controls and timely reporting
? Oversee the development of an annual line item budget by month and year for submission to the Board of Directors for approval
? Assure the reporting of operational and financial performance to the Board of Directors through monthly reports of actual performance vs. budget; recommends action as necessary
? Assure the establishment and maintenance of an adequate, cost effective system of internal controls
? Monitor patient and payor reimbursement patterns and assures the development of programs to enhance reimbursement and cash flow
? Review all business and professional insurance; makes recommendations and informs Board of Directors as appropriate
? Recommend, maintain and regularly report on banking, accounting and other financial and consulting relationships
? Enhance operational effectiveness while emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care
? Establish and evaluate budgets and departmental performance to identify ways to improve operational performance; facilitates strategies for improvement and monitor the implementation and results of those initiatives
? Develop and provide oversight of the Physician Compensation plans
Oversight and strategic direction for Insurance Plan and Governmental Payor Contracting
? Serve as primary liaison with referring practices and local hospital/health system administrative leadership
? Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with external parties, ensuring open communication and alignment of goals and objectives to achieve the overall vision of the physician practice
? Represent the physician practice in its relationships with hospitals, government agencies, insurance companies and third party payors
? Investigate, analyze, prepare and negotiate relationships with hospitals, payors and other healthcare companies
? Approve all vendor selection and participate in selection process as needed
? Select/recommend/maintain banking, legal, accounting and other business relationships
? Maintain public relations efforts for the physician practice
? Maintain professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep current on the latest healthcare trends and developments
