The Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency is seeking full-time core faculty who have a passion for clinical care and resident education with a desire to serve in a safety-net system. We emphasize acute care, reproductive health and continuity of care for diverse and traditionally underrepresented communities. We value strong faculty-resident mentorship and value a work environment that prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion.
Established in 1975, Contra Costa FMR is a UCSF-affiliated, 13-13-13 program with a national reputation for excellence in training full spectrum family physicians. Supported by a county-based, integrated health system built by family doctors, we attract mission-driven faculty and residents who model commitment to our patients and to our learning community. Our unique teaching model prioritizes learning by fostering resident autonomy through collaboration and mentorship.
Core residency faculty members will work directly with the Program Director, Behavioral Scientist and Chief Residents as a member of the Residency Leadership Group. Duties will consist of a combination of direct clinical care; resident supervision and teaching; and residency administrative responsibilities.
Located just outside of San Francisco, the area is home to unmatched natural beauty, a diverse community and exceptional cultural activities, including world-class cuisine, arts and music.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree; be certified by the ABFM; have or obtain a valid California medical license; have previous experience in teaching and/or residency administration; and have a commitment and desire to work with underserved populations as well as diverse patients, residents and staff. Candidates with at least two years of residency faculty and/or teaching experience preferred.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds to become part of our core residency faculty to mentor our residents and lead our program into the future.
Our mission is to care for and improve the health of all people in Contra Costa County with special attention to those who are most vulnerable to health problems.
