The Master Data Specialist is responsible for supporting operations by monitoring and analyzing master data, key data, and master relationship data within the organization for the DM team. The role ensures master data integrity in key systems as well as identify areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies. In addition, this role assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure functional master data integrity across multi-subject systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements. This individual will also provide assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards. Success in the role is defined via MDM technology strategy deliverables; including activities supporting data standards, data governance processes, data quality, MDM tools, MDM best practices, and MDM implementations.
The role will collaborate with Enterprise Data Quality and Governance programs to deliver high quality, contemporary, best-in-class solutions across CHRISTUS Health.
The Master Data Specialist supports the business goals and objectives for the Data Management division, the Information Management organization, and the enterprise as a whole.
Utilizing their experience both implementing and supporting Master Data solutions; Understand functions (e.g., intake process, data quality, match and merge process, database performance, file-based and services integration, etc.), best practices, and set standards for Master Data architecture and operations.
Assists in the application and implementation procedures of data standards and guidelines on data ownership, coding structures, and data replication to ensure access to and integrity of data sets.
Provides input and assistance through requirements, design, development, test, and deployment project phases. Includes data model, data matching and merging rules, survivorship criteria and data stewardship workflows using the MDM tool.
Develop deep understanding of CHRISTUS technologies, business processes, interfaces to other solutions, and functional areas to support MDM success.
Work with the CHRISTUS architecture teams and support teams to develop and ensure compliance to the CHRISTUS standards, ensuring that strategies translate to business requirements and models into feasible and acceptable database designs to ensure that business needs are met.
Dedicated and self-motivated to continually improve Master Data solutions (e.g., troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, automation, etc.)
Partner with ongoing data architecture processes and governance programs to deliver high quality, high impact business solutions.
Oversee continual audit functions to improve quality over time.
Interacts professionally and effectively with multiple functional areas in developing and implementing solutions related to Master Data activities.
Under instruction of MDM Solution architect, Implement and execute a Master Data solution; Includes integration, sourcing, data services, de-duplication, survivorship and data archiving.
Thorough understanding of deterministic and probabilistic matching methodologies and master data hierarchy management.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adjust to changing work environments.
Partner with Business Leaders, Stewards and Business Users to resolve solution issues.
Prepare auditing analysis to identify trends, patterns, and/or system issues that may contribute to coding and documentation deficiencies and risk areas.
Deep technical skills in Informatica Master Data tools and SQL (Microsoft, Oracle and Teradata).
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or Data Science
7+ years in application development, data analysis, data consolidation, or data management / governance
5+ years in data consolidation (BI and/or MDM) and implementation developer roles; Ability to analyze sources, design consolidation rules, develop data load routines in batch and real time, cleanse, and merge/de-duplicate
3+ years technical knowledge on data architecture and data integration
3+ years direct experience in MDM analysis, design, development, support and operations with a leading MDM tool suite (Informatica preferred)
Deep understanding of SQL (Microsoft and Teradata preferred)
Ability to communicate technical concepts, possibilities, and limitations to a non-technical audience (product managers, business stakeholders)
Knowledge of Healthcare data and specific data domain utilized within Healthcare
High attention to detail and constructive attitude in reviewing data
