Michigan State University (MSU) seeks a dynamic, visionary executive to serve as the next Chief Executive Officer, MSU Health Care, Inc., the multi-specialty group practice plan of Michigan State University’s Colleges of Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, and Nursing with nearly 270 providers. At a time of exciting evolution for the institution and the practice plan, this leader will be instrumental in building upon the strong history and foundation of the MSU HealthTeam by working collaboratively with the team to take the group to the next level of excellence.
MSU and MSU Health Care are in an exciting period of strategic growth and development. Formerly MSU HealthTeam, MSU Health Care was incorporated in late 2018 as an independent 501(c)(3) organization to promote external partnerships and leverage internal collaborations. Since their inception, MSU’s health colleges have been community-based and have relied upon long-standing partnerships with multiple healthcare institutions across the State of Michigan. The leadership team of MSU Health Care works in close collaboration with the leadership teams across the three colleges. In concert with these teams, MSU Health Care has been making significant strides in charting the course for high quality, safe and efficient patient care across a large network of clinics in mid-Michigan.
The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced, collaborative medical group executive with an understanding of the future trends in healthcare delivery. This person will be an engaging and visible leader with the highest levels of integrity and a transparent communication style that engenders trust across multiple stakeholder groups. This person will have an appreciation for the academic environment and what that means to practicing clinicians and patients. This person will be entrepreneurial with an enthusiasm and vision for building high functioning systems and will have an ability to bring different parties together to support a common vision that is grounded in the land grant mission of Michigan State University.
