The Hospital Compliance Officer reports directly to a Group ComplianceOfficer for the South Carolina and Massachusetts Group.The Group Compliance Officer reports directlyto the Vice President and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Tenet HealthcareCorporation.
The Hospital Compliance Officer (HCO) has responsibility formanaging the implementation of Tenetâs Ethics and Compliance Program forhis/her assigned facilities.
The Hospital Compliance Officer's general duties andresponsibilities encompass implementing Tenet's systems, processes and policiesdesigned to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements andTenetâs Quality, Compliance and Ethics Program Charter.The Compliance Officer will serve as a memberof the facilityâs executive team and will serve as a resource to facilityleadership, employees and medical staff related to compliance requirements.
Significantresponsibilities of the HCO include the following:
Establisha regular schedule of visitation, rounding and feedback sessions at assignedfacilities.
Participateas a member of the facility executive team (A-Team) to ensure compliancesupport is readily available for facility leaders.
Work inconsultation with facility Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officerto review CEO reports, annual business plans, Monthly Operating Reports (MOR),etc., to provide compliance oversight and direction related to facilityinitiatives.
Leadfacility Compliance Committee meetings consistent with Charter and departmentstandard operating procedure requirements.
Intakeand coordinate with Investigations Team related to investigation of compliancematters.
Prepareand deliver facility-specific training and education in response to facilityneeds and requests, investigations of compliance matters, and identified riskareas.
Overseefacility auditing and monitoring activities, including quarterly referralsource audits, annual facility reviews/walkthrough, and other complianceauditing activities as necessary.
Conductannual compliance risk assessments as outlined in department standard operatingprocedures.
Presentsemi-annual reports to the facilityâs Governing Board and conduct annualGoverning Board training as required by the Charter.
Performadditional duties as assigned.
A competitivecompensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate.Base salary will be supplemented by aperformance bonus and comprehensive, well-rounded benefits program, whichincludes relocation assistance.Theperformance bonus is based on the performance of Tenet as reflected in itsBalanced Scorecard rather than the performance of the Hospital.
Approximately 25percent. It is expected that the Hospital Compliance Officer will be active ina healthcare compliance association.
A Bachelorâs degree required is required, and a Masterâs degreeis preferred.
Strong preferencefor at least three to five years of experience in the healthcare industry (orequivalent experience).
The successfulcandidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in compliance processimprovement and the requirements of Federal healthcare programs.Other success factors include past clinical,legal, auditing or other compliance experience.
