The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is actively seeking a healthcare leader with executive-level experience in commercial health plan management for our Executive Director (ED), Clinical and Network Management (C&NM) opportunity at Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Central Office.

The ED, C&NM serves as the day-to-day operating office and policy and strategy advisor to the program offices within the Office of Community Care and is responsible for consistency in policy guidance and interpretation to support senior level decision making. The ED, C&NM serves as a clinical assistant to the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Community Care (ADUSH/CC) as needed; and as delegated by the ADUSH/CC, performs any statutory or other duty that the Assistant Deputy is required or authorized to perform with respect to the Office.
This position is responsible for the direct supervision of two Deputy Executive Directors (SES EQV) and the general oversight of approximately 125 FTE within the Clinical Network Management directorate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Physician):
Full and unrestricted medical license from a US state or territory (details must appear in CV/Resume)
MD/DO degree from school approved by the Secretary of VA for the year in which the course of study was completed
English speaking/writing proficiency
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency and board eligibility
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Nurse):
Masters Degree in Nursing, or an equivalent degree
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice nursing in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
Successful completion of a Masters Degree or higher course of study in an accredited college or university in an academic field related to health care or administration of health care related to the work of the position (e.g., health informatics, analytics, or compliance). Licensure is not applicable.
Demonstrated management of a provider network and execution of network contracts, including utilization management experience
Provided oversight for the development and enhancement of external provider relationships
Extensive leadership experience in the health care arena sufficient to qualify for the equivalent of a senior executive position within the Federal service, including significant experience with strategic planning, policy development, financial management, and staff development
Expert-level knowledge of current concepts in health care such as communicating and providing guidance on national level health care policy to internal and external stakeholders, defining and evaluating new policy recommendations that directly impact health care provided to patients, overseeing senior leadership responsible for oversight of national health care facilities, analyzing information and data to identify improvement opportunities to reduce barriers to health care service, and developing treatment standards to monitor the quality of health care on a national level are also essential

- Physician: SR-602 $145,000 - $245,000
- Nurse: SR-610 $127,148 - $176,900
- Health Science Officer: SR-601 $127,148 - $176,900
