Supervises trains and evaluates grounds maintenance and equipment operating staff: ensures the safe and productive use of equipment utilized In grounds maintenance and associated repair work; trains and directs subordinates in the use care and maintenance of tools and equipment
Installs and maintains landscape installations, including but not limited to: determines types and quantity of horticultural plants to be grown; selects and purchases plants, plant nutrients and disease control chemicals; provides daily maintenance and identifies plant needs and provides appropriate solutions
Requisitions materials and supplies for projects and coordinates the efficient use of workers, resources and equipment
independently plans and coordinates ground maintenance projects at multiple sites: analyzes and resolves work problems, and assists workers In solving problems
Monitors productivity and work flow or crews under charge; ensures adherence to established deadlines and preventive maintenance schedules. Inspects custodial and grounds maintenance tasks. e.g. edging, mowing, trimming, waste and litter removal, fertilizing, placing sod raking, planting . Repairs as well as inspects maintenance and repairs on Irrigation systems, equipment, on multiple System facilities and grounds. Plat s and coordinates landscape program projects, e.g., planting, spraying, fertilizing, mulching, watering, transplanting lawn care and maintenance.
Inspects tree pruning and removal by selected vendor
Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture or Landscape Architecture
5 years previous Horticulture experience
Experience inmanaging employees
Experience in working with fertilizers, irrigation systems, etc.
2 years in supervisory capacity
Knowledge of all grounds maintenance equipment and planting processes
