Mount Sinai Health System seeks Seasoned Physician Leader for Long Island Ambulatory Network
Remarkable ambulatory leadership opportunity with one of the largest and most respected academic health systems in the country. The Nassau Regional Medical Director is the senior physician leader responsible for clinical performance across Mount Sinai’s 20+ sites in Nassau County. As part of the integration Mount Sinai’s newest hospital campus, Mount Sinai South Nassau, Mount Sinai is making transformational investments in Nassau County, exceeding $500M over the next five years to build a best-in-class clinical platform. To support this strategy, Mount Sinai is actively recruiting a seasoned regional medical director to lead its ambulatory practices. Leading a team of local medical directors and practice physicians, the Regional Medical Director will drive practice transformation efforts, including integrating and standardizing Mount Sinai’s multi-specialty practices in the County, and ensuring highest clinical performance in terms of quality care, efficiency, and patient experience.
As the senior regional ambulatory physician, the Regional Medical Director will work with site medical directors to execute against highest priority initiatives, including: quality and outcomes, utilization, patient experience, access, productivity, and professional issues. A core function of this role will involve developing regional strategic plans in partnership with Mount Sinai and South Nassau leadership, including facility and programming, recruitments, and regional physician alignments. This individual will be responsible for evaluating opportunities for new initiatives, taking into account budgeting, sessional work, specialists, physician turnover, local healthcare market, space needs, equipment etc.

As Mount Sinai evolves its healthcare model in a changing reimbursement environment, the Regional Medical Director will play a lead role in preparing clinicians for value-based care and will utilize his/her leadership to positively impact change management
The ideal candidate will be board-certified with a minimum of 5-10 of years clinical experience and at least 5 years of demonstrated administrative and leadership responsibilities in an ambulatory setting.
