POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and in collaboration with the leadership team, lead position to seek and secure grant and contract funding to support the organization’s strategic direction in terms of programming and services, with priority given to community-based services that complement clinical services. Assist with needs assessment, strategic planning, evaluation and publication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assess and identify funding sources to support strategic priorities. 2. Write proposals for federal, state, foundation and corporate sources of funding to sustain, enhance and expand services. 3. Work closely with the Senior Director of Community Health Services to sustain programing and develop new services in keeping with health center evolution. 4. Assist the CEO with funding opportunities that support strategic planning efforts of the board of directors and leadership team. 5. Develop and maintain relationships with community, state, regional and national funding organizations that benefit organizational development. 6. Mentor select staff members in grantsmanship and program development. 7. Compile and prepare reports for both internal and external use.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Work is performed in an office environment and requires both desk and counter work. 2. Frequent mobility and/or sitting for extended periods of time. 3. Requires manual dexterity to operate office equipment. 4. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read policies, grants/contracts, and computer. 5. Hearing within the normal range.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to assess and prioritize funding opportunities for agency fit. 2. Experience writing successful funding proposals. 3. Experience mentoring support and management staff in grantsmanship. 4. Ability to interpret grants/contracts, statistical reports. 5. Knowledge of public health concepts. 6. Knowledge of border, Hispanic/Latino and rural health issues. 7. Experience in the development of programs that utilized CHWs
