Under the general direction of the System Director of Human Resources and System Manager of Compensation & Benefits to administer Bozeman Health's compensation plan, the Compensation Analyst will have primary responsibility for completing salary surveys, evaluating current positions and determining wage scales, and scoring candidates and positions.
The Compensation Analyst will work collaboratively with the System Manager of Compensation & Benefits to ensure that the compensation program supports both short and long term business objectives and continues to be competitive and cost effective.
The Compensation Analyst will work closely with Bozeman Health Medical Group (BHMG) leadership to assist in the salary data discussion with providers, reporting of compensation process and strategy, and the day-to-day administration of physician compensation.
In partnership with HR Data Analyst(s), the Compensation Analyst will have shared responsibility for auditing compensation and data accuracy within HRIS, and make corrections/changes as needed with appropriate documentation.
The Compensation Analyst will assume a shared responsibility with other members of the HR team to provide compensation related reports as requested and assist managers, employees, and HR team members with report running out of various HR systems.
This role supports various, general HR functions including but not limited to: answering employee questions and providing overall HR assistance as needed.

Overall compensation administration:
Completion of annual salary surveys for all Bozeman Health positions
Scoring new job descriptions (non leadership) to assess appropriate salary range Scoring candidates for entry wage (and internal transfers)
Partnering with System Manager of Compensation & Benefits and System Director of HR on annual salary increase process
Complete periodic audits of compensation information in HRIS to ensure accuracy
25% Time Spent:
Compensation Education & Communication:
Meet with employees and managers regarding the compensation policy and practice
Educate managers on compensation policy and pay for performance strategy
Provide guidance on goal setting and job descriptions to ensure appropriate scoring for jobs and adequate information for performance evaluations
Monitor annual evaluations to ensure completion for the purpose of determining annual salary increases
30% Time Spent:
Coordinate with Chief Physician Officer, Physician System Director(s), Management Compensation Committee, and HR to manage physician compensation oversight, make adjustments as needed, populate contracting information for new and existing BHMG providers (including LOIs and term sheets)
Complete necessary action forms and collaborate with appropriate Human Resources personnel to make necessary adjustments to departments, job codes, compensation, and splits to be entered into HRIS for payroll accuracy (including monthly auditing)
Serve as liaison between Human Resources leadership, BHMG, clinic leadership, and Finance (payroll) for issues related to wages and payroll.
Proficiency in the area of physician compensation including understanding worked RVUs, draws, quality and production bonuses (and measurement of), and calculations & agreements.
Conduct meetings and presentations to share process improvement ideas and findings based upon market data and feedback from external compensation consultants.
10% Time Spent:
Partner with HR team members (including benefits team and recruiting for populating annual total rewards statements and ad-hoc statements (as needed for recruiting) and speaking with candidates as needed.
5% Time Spent:
Other duties/projects as assigned / offer general support to HR team.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, finance, human resources or related field, or equivalent experience (4+ years)
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
CCP certification from World at Work
Minimum of 3-5 years of human resources experience in a professional office environment
Minimum of one (1) year of compensation analyst (administration) experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of Microsoft Office suite experience; proficient in Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Minimum of 3-5 years of compensation administration experience
