Fairview Health Services is hiring a full time Chief People Officer in Minneapolis, MN. The Chief People Officer is responsible for owning the entire employee experience, with an emphasis on strategy implementation in a fast changing industry. This role has accountability for the Human Resources function and Community Advancement including the Fairview Foundation.
As a key member of the senior executive team and reporting to the CEO, this role provides strategic leadership to the executive team and will direct and evaluate all aspects of core HR strategies, structures and programs such as talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, training and development, and compensation and benefits administration. This position leads a team of over 200 staff members across the system.
Provide overall direction for the Human Resources function including the ongoing support to enable the HR organization to fully function as strategic business partners; building a solid rapport with the senior executive team and other key leaders throughout the organization
Lead the implementation of strategies that enable the organization to successfully achieve the vision of Our People Advantage
Build high performance teams through recruiting, developing and retaining top talent
Formulate and direct best practices to provide effective and consistent human resource management throughout the system
Champion leadership development programs and succession programs that ensure talented bench strength across the organization. Supports the development of system-wide retention strategies as well as recruitment strategies to address talent gaps in the current organization or in succession slates. Ensure that diversity initiatives are developed and integrated into all people strategies
Ensure that performance evaluation systems are consistently administered across the organization
Oversee incentive and reward systems that place the correct balance between individual and team results as well as short and long-term business results
Oversee the ongoing modifications to the compensation and benefits practices to assure that all employee salaries and benefits are competitive, efficiently designed and administered, and cost-effective
Champion the engagement of all Fairview employees, enabling a thriving working environment for all employees through a variety of programs and services that encourage employees to give their best every day
Champion labor and employee relations strategies designed to create an environment that encourages maximum individual and team effectiveness
Provides strategic leadership for Fairview’s Community Advancement function to leverage Fairview’s assets and strengths with community assets and strengths to drive a healthier future
Champions community engagement, community health and wellbeing, community benefit and philanthropy
Master’s degree required. In lieu of Master’s, consideration will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Sr Leadership experience
Minimum of 15 years progressive leadership experience required, knowledge and experience in the Human Resources Function highly desired
Strong experience and skills in managing talent to ensure that the organization is positioned for growth and excellence
An ability to influence senior executives, establish and maintain partnerships, and provide thought leadership
