The University of Miami Health System seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as the next Associate Vice President, Physician Compensation.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the AVP will be responsible for leading the overall strategy, optimization and implementation of the organization’s physician compensation program operations. The AVP will provide subject matter expertise and executive leadership to move the needle in all areas related to physician compensation, ensuring that the strategy and execution of key initiatives meet the needs of current and future demands of this rapidly evolving organization. S/he will be charged with building on the momentum recently created in this area to implement, improve upon and standardize an efficient physician compensation function for the organization.
The AVP will be a talented health care executive with at least 10 years of broadly based, progressive experience in health care finance and operations activities. Experience in both a complex health care environment and an academic health system is required. S/he must demonstrate a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the physician compensation process for academic medical centers. S/he must have financial analysis experience in healthcare and strong knowledge of cost and financial accounting principles, practices and concepts.
