As VP CNO, Ambulatory Services, you would report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer and partner with the market CMOs. Direct reports would include a Nurse Leader in MT and CO as well as our Director Post-Acute Care and Director Care Coordination. Additionally, this role will work in close partnership on our Population Health Strategy with the Vice President Care Management and Vice President Payer Contracting. As a member of the system executive leadership team you will participate in planning, organizing and implementing programs and activities across the system and its hospitals in accordance with the mission and values of SCL Health.

In this newly created position, the VP CNO, Ambulatory Services, executes the safety and quality agenda and system standards of practice to ensure safety, quality, and experience of care at every point of service as well as associate/physician safety across ambulatory care sites. This individual serves as a content expert on care coordination, transitions of care, population health and community health.
Additionally, this key senior leader:
Develops and executes patient safety and quality initiatives across the continuum of care to drive results with a focus in the areas of safety/reliability, experience of care, informatics, care coordination, chronic disease management, wellness, and population health.
Holds accountability for scope of practice oversight for ambulatory nursing. Encourages creativity and innovation in response to a need for change. Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients and associates. Responsible for the development and execution of onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training nursing and other clinical roles.
Implements care delivery model changes to deliver superior quality outcomes, financial performance, operational effectiveness and experience of care. Ensures compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements and national patient safety goals for the delivery of patient care that is highly reliable and patient-family centered.
Provides guidance to clinical nurses to identify developmental needs and strategies that foster effective problem-solving, collaboration, consultation, and sound clinical judgment. Ensures a strong collaborative patient centered approach to service excellence, promotes employee engagement and is a leader of the nursing and care transformation.
Coordinates and works in concert with CNOs, CMOs, Medical Group leadership, providers, leaders, and associates to orchestrate and coordinate the desired level of clinical quality and safety, ensure consistency and minimize variation in the experience of care.
Serves as a change agent and key resource to leaders, physicians, and other stakeholders to proactively identify, communicate, and implement strategic and operational frameworks to improve performance and effectiveness.
Ensures quality documentation of care, optimization of Epic tools, and operational workflows.
We expect excellence, which is why we require:
Master’s degree in health, nursing or business administration required. If the advanced degree is non-nursing, undergraduate degree must be Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Current Colorado or Montana Registered Nurse License (or eligible to attain and will do so within six (6) months of hire)
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive healthcare management and nursing leadership experience.
