Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is the leading academic/medical facility in Northern New England and has been consistently ranked by the U.S. News and World Report as One of America’s Best Hospitals. The Audiology Section at DHMC provides a range of diagnostic and amplification/management options for all ages and works closely with Otolaryngology/Otology. Various behavioral hearing tests and auditory physiologic measures are performed including sedated and unsedated ABRs, OAEs, VNGs and VEMPs. Our aural rehabilitation services include hearing aid dispensing, cochlear implant management, osseointegrated technologies and hearing assistive technology (HAT).
We currently have eleven audiologists, four with pediatric caseloads and seven with adult caseloads. Our team also includes two hearing instrument specialists, a pediatric test assistant, an educational consultant, and a part-time social worker. The clinic strives to practice evidence-based audiology and employs best-practice standards.
We are seeking a per diem audiologist to support our patient care needs. AuD or Master’s Degree in Audiology is required, as well as an active and current audiology license for the state of New Hampshire. Applicants should be well versed in hearing aid dispensing and management, diagnostic assessment, including behavioral and physiologic assessment.
The ideal candidate should also possess the following:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, which include the ability to thoroughly and effectively counsel patients and their families while building patient rapport.
Excellent written skills.
The ability to work in a very collaborative, team environment.
The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, providers and other team members.
