JOB TITLE: Postdoctoral Fellow - Neuroimaging and Genomics of Addiction LOCATION: GMC Woodbine DEPARTMENT: Research WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time JOB SUMMARY: Dr. Vanessa Troiani is seeking an outstanding researcher for a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Geisinger, an integrated health system in Pennsylvania. The postdoc will carry out translational research on the neural and genetic underpinnings of substance abuse disorders, specifically opioid use disorder. This project is to work on a funded NIH R01 in collaboration with Dr. Wade Berrettini from University of Pennsylvania. The project aims to use electronic health record phenotype data, self-report phenotype data, brain imaging data, and genomic data to develop a risk profile for opioid use disorder. Experience in large-scale neuroimaging analyses, particularly structural neuroimaging analysis, is preferred. The postdoc will report to Dr. Troiani and may also collaborate with other researchers across disciplines at Geisinger (and with outside colleagues), and will ideally be based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The postdoc will assist in analysis of existing structural neuroimaging data on a large population (10,000+) of patients who also have a large amount of clinical and genomic data. Dr. Troiani is particularly interested in candidates with strong statistical and computational skills. Other duties include contribution to ongoing research projects, preparation of talks and participation in seminars, and drafting reports, grant applications, and papers for publication. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A Ph.D. (completed by start of employment) in neuroscience, psychology, computer science, genetics, or any other relevant scientific discipline • Training in structural neuroimaging research methods • Experience with statistical software • Experience with programming DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Scientific publications • Experience in interdisciplinary research and working in collaborative teams • Experience with computer programming and bioinformatics • Experience with genomic analysis and/or neuroimaging analysis DURATION: This is a one-year position with the expectation of renewal for additional years conditional on performance.
