JOB TITLE: Certified Recovery Specialist LOCATION: Pennsylvania Home Workers DEPARTMENT: Geisinger Health Plans, Behavioral Health WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Part Time JOB SUMMARY United Ways of Columbia and Montour County and Greater Susquehanna Valley have committed to working towards the elimination of drug overdoses by improving access to education and treatment. A large part of the education is reducing stigma so that individuals currently experience SUD or families affected can get the help they need. Ensure that all residents of the five-county region are well-informed on overdose, signs of a Substance/Opioid Use Disorder, treatment options, and recovery programs available throughout the community in order to eliminate stigma regarding overdose/addiction in the county. Launch a public awareness campaign to increase awareness and for all individuals in order to eliminate stigma throughout the counties. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS • Knowledge of principles and practices associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers. • Demonstrates competence in organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of psychological counseling, knowledge of individual and group behavior and the relationship between social, economic, psychological factors. • Knowledge of the operating principles, major issues, governmental regulations, and code of ethics for the healthcare industry; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to healthcare related situations. • Knowledge and understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 years Related work experience Required: YES EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED Required: YES CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES Current Certified Recovery Specialist certification required, or eligibility to qualify and take the CRS educational course.
