JOB TITLE: EHR System Analyst LOCATION: Geisinger Office Building I DEPARTMENT: Information Technology WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the performance of tasks related to project completion, including but not limited to, analysis, training, testing, documentation, problem resolution, and implementation of an application. Provides input and assists in developing project plans. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Gathers data for problem analysis, including interviews of relevant personnel.
*Develops a strong understanding of assigned applications.
*Analyzes documents, files, reports, and other application-related workflows.
*Prepares flow charts, system test plan, reports, and upgrade requirements.
*Documents existing procedures, change control process, and other operating characteristics.
*Assists with the preparation of project requirements documents and design specifications, including implementation analysis.
*Assists with the preparation of requests for proposals.
*Assists with the analysis of vendor proposals.
*Keeps current on new technology development in hardware, software and direction of the industry.
*Recommends system enhancements to provide continuing efficiencies to the end user.
*Designs new or improved systems, including reports.
*Organizes information in accessible project files.
*Assists in developing the skill set of the System Analyst Associate.
*Communicates effectively with other team members, end users, and supervisor.
*Reports project progress and activity to IT management or designate when required.
*Maintains tables, master files, etc. as assigned.
*Assists with the planning, testing and documenting of application upgrades.
*Prepares training materials and performs training for both user and operations personnel.
*Provides input into project plans.
*Assists with the assurance that the end users uphold the Geisinger Health System security policies.
*Provides support for specific applications, support requirements could be 24 hours/7days per week, dependent on application.
*Assists in the preparation of user, systems and operations documentation.
*Assists in the preparation of department policies, procedures and standards.
Performs other duties as required or assigned by emergency or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform.

Demonstrates ability to interact with senior level management, as well as project participants. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree Required in related field. Minimum of one year’s experience in systems design or detailed E.H.R. application experience required.

Associate's Degree in related field. Minimum of two years’ experience in systems design or detailed E.H.R. application experience required.

In lieu of degree, minimum of three years’ experience in systems design or detailed E.H.R. application experience required.
