The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. At AMGA we’re paving the way for medical groups and integrated systems of care to deliver the next level of high-performance health. We have an opening for a Communications Coordinator reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.
The Communications Coordinator works closely with the Public Policy Department to support the promotion and understanding of the group practice model. In addition, the position will identify opportunities to publicize and promote AMGA’s advocacy agenda. The ideal candidate will be a smart self-starter with superior communications and organizational skills; and knowledge or interest in health care and public policy.
Duties and responsibilities
Serve as coordinator for all aspects of AMGA’s new campaign to promote the superiority of the group practice model. Support research efforts, Advisory Group, message and materials development
Assist in the development and implementation of communications tactics for reaching campaign audience of health policy influencers, media and members.
Manage outreach to members to gather member stories to support the campaign. Assist in coordination of video development
Develop and implement a content strategy for public policy content in order to promote AMGA’s advocacy agenda to members and external audiences
Write and coordinate with internal colleagues placement of content in newsletters, GPJ, on the website, social media and press releases
Provide backup to Manager, Communications on PR and social media
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum 2 years’ experience (may include relevant internships)
Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, English, or Public Policy major is a plus
Strong writing skills with experience writing for advocacy group or in healthcare-related field
Experience creating content calendars, using multiple channels to distribute content
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
Professional demeanor; high energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexible, adaptable, team player
Very strong planning and organizing skills
Excellent collaborator and can also work independently
