Work Hours/Shift: Full Time Days, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm, must be flexible with hours
The Materials Manager will be accountable for participating in cost case analysis, generating requisitions for special orders, tracking and receiving specific assigned non-stock items. Manages processing/oversight of all equipment and will utilize appropriate Florida Hospital computer systems to perform daily responsibilities. Management responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising work performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, addressing physician complaints and resolving problems. Additional responsibilities include orientation, training, and education of new team members and visiting personnel. Participates or leads out on materials performance improvement projects while utilizing the hospital's PI tools; APIE, Lean and Six Sigma. Direct and coordinate activities in receiving, inventory control, and distribution. Assists with managing a safe and therapeutic environment for all surgical patients. Adhere to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
What You Will Need:
Nursing degree (BS, AS, or diploma) and current licensure, OR
5 years of proven materials management experience in a hospital setting.
If nurse, Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse OR
Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Preferred)
You Will Be Responsible For:

Participates in management of the monthly and annual supply budgets. Monitors supply costs to budget variances. Oversees costs and outcomes utilizing the surgical services and finance data. Converts data/ideas into action plans. Participates in proformas on new equipment, instrumentation and supplies
Directs and coordinates vendor presence and activities within the department. Acts as a liaison between departments regarding orders, cost center discrepancies and various materials management issues. Communicates with physicians and surgery team members regarding product requests.
Maintains control of the inventory and aligning assets/resources to eliminate procedural conflicts. Ensures par levels of actual inventory are set correctly and adjusted as needed. Manages maintenance of all bin locations for supplies. Manages the inventory of implants. Scans implants to ensure adherence to FDA tracking guidelines. Utilizes computer system for implant tracking. Acts as a point person for nursing staff for implant documentation.
Manages department assets regarding repairs, loaners, and special orders/requests within the budget for designated department.
Manages and maintains all Doctor Preference Cards for the department. Performs all updates related to clinical/supply changes and communicates all changes to department staff.
Manages and oversees all patient charging functions. Assists and oversees that Department Product Catalog is maintained. Maintains unit Price File information, working with management team on price file issues, cost per case analysis and ensures that departmental charge sheets are updated. Performs audits to ensure charges are captured. Resolves issues related to incorrect charges. Facilitates timely entry of charges.
Participates in interviewing and makes recommendations for hiring materials management staff. Oversees training and orientation of new employees. Completes performance appraisals. Addresses customer complaints and works with leadership team to ensure conflict resolution. Leads out and/or participates in unit Performance Improvement projects.
For cc 0850 only: Manages team members and activities in Central Service to assure proper training of staff and compliance with all sterilization standards. Assesses the need for new equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
