Fairview Health Services is looking for a Nurse Manager in our Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN near the 35E and 35 W conjunctions.The hospital has been providing state-of-the art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984
The department is a Level 3 Trauma Center. We have 45 beds and a yearly census of approximately 66,000 and growing!
Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, transport, and Case Managers.Emergency Department Registered Nurses provide emergency nursing care for a diversified population of all age distributions (infant to geriatrics) and all problem types in a very busy Emergency Room.
The Fairview Ridges (located in Burnsville, MN) ER processes 66,000 cases per year, with an average of 181 patients seen daily.
The Nurse Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, goals, and objectives of assigned area(s) and Fairview Health Services
Develops and/or provides input into budget for assigned area(s) according to established procedures.
Ensures that a process for collecting, monitoring and reporting quality data exists for assigned area.
Investigates and responds appropriately to all complaints and takes effective, corrective action when necessary.
Utilizes the nursing process in problem solving,
Serves as a role model for staff.
Manages change using a planned, orderly approach.
Demonstrates ability to implement problem-solving mechanisms in both routine and emergency situations.
Delegates appropriate tasks to staff.
Ensures implementation and development of standards of practice in patient care that reflect valid research findings.
Evaluates, develops and revises clinical systems to assure regulatory compliance
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field. If bachelors is not in nursing then must have a Master's degree in nursing.
4 years total overall nursing experience with at least 3 years emergency or related nursing experience
At least two years of leadership experience in a formal or informal leader role (charge, lead, preceptor, etc.) nursing leadership position in a hospital based setting
Minnesota RN license
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS
Preferred Advanced Degree in nursing or related field
Other forms of supervisory or management experience
