You Will Be Responsible For:
Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
Assess sonographic images for technical quality, proper annotation and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
Have knowledge of patientâ™s cardiac history indications of echo and specific questions being answered.
Help in having echo studies ready for pediatric weekly CV conference.
Explains procedure to patient and family prior to the commencement of the test to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Maintain the appropriate credential in echocardiography from the ARDMS or CCI:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
BLS required.
Fetal echo registry - preferred or encouraged to have.
Possess a current/valid registration certification in pediatric and/or adult echocardiography.
Provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
Minimum of 1 year experience in pediatric and pediatric cardiology sonography, preferably with a Pediatric Cardiologist.
Knowledge of cardiac ultrasound.
Ability to perform fetal echocardiography is preferred.
Job Summary:
Perform transthoracic echocardiograms of pediatric cardiology patients. Assist the Pediatric Cardiologist in acquisition of sonographic images and interpretation.
