This position manages cash posting and credit balance functions for Patient Financial Services (PFS). It provides supervision and direction of the credit balance, payment posting and correspondence staff as needed in daily credit balance, correspondence and posting functions. This position is responsible for balancing the cash posting to the accounts receivable in the facility, physician, home care and all supporting IS systems, while maintaining a thorough understanding of contracts, reimbursement methodology and insurance billing and collection practices. This position is responsible for creating, implementing and updating the policies and procedures for the Credit Balance and Payment Posting areas as well as following the PFS departmental policies and procedures. This position also adheres to upholding Shared Values and Service Excellence of the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing cash posting, credit balances, and staff resources. Responsible to manage the following processes, but not limited to: This includes credit balance / refunds, payment posting and reconciliation, and unidentified cash activities.
Ensure high performance of staff resources
Interviews, hires, conducts departmental orientation and competency tests. Develop and implement plans and schedules.
Effectively communicates and collaborates with leadership for advancement of initiatives. Supports leadership and works with external stakeholders as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 7 or more years experience Similar position in healthcare management experience preferred
HFMA certification Preferred
