Description Job Summary The Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center seeks qualified applicants for a Clinical Research Program Manager. The candidate will plan, develop and execute multiple clinical studies for the newly developed NIA-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, under occasional guidance from the Center Director and faculty leadership. High-level responsibilities will focus on organizing and implementing new protocols, hiring and training new staff, allocating and monitoring staff responsibilities, tracking study progress and milestones, and overseeing data collection activities. Successful applicants will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with colleagues and participants from diverse backgrounds. This position is ideal for applicants looking to grow their clinical research management skills in a highly collaborative environment. Exceptional organizational skills, verbal communication, written communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are required. Proficiency in all Microsoft applications is also required. Experience with project management, especially in a research setting, is preferred.. Key Responsibilities Oversees the creation, coordination, and implementation of all protocols related to the new Vanderbilt Alzheimer's Disease Research Center Proactively addresses issues related to staffing and visit logistics. Seeks continuous improvement in clinical research protocol implementation Displays strong attention to detail and commitment to responsible conduct of research Works collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds and exhibits cultural competence and cultural humility Manages program budgets, including creating new budgets and allocating resources appropriately Provides training and guidance for staff, trainees, and volunteers who contribute to the program's clinical research activities, including monitoring quality assurance standards and procedures Promotes growth and expansion of the program by actively seeking stakeholder feedback to improve processes, systems, and outcomes Effectively prioritizes tasks and work assignments. Delegates tasks as appropriate, reviews work, and follows up to assure successful and timely completion Evaluates program activities and milestones, including providing updates at team meetings with table and figure summaries Recognizes and takes charge of responsibilities. Takes ownership of problems brought to their attention. Analyzes problems and follows through to problem resolution. Takes responsibility for mistakes and learns from them Distinguishes critical needs from less urgent ones. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks. Plans, organizes, and completes projects in an efficient manner Communicates objectives, goals, and program progress within and across the interdisciplinary team to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and information sharing Accepts constructive criticism.
