Job Description: This position is responsible for overall design, development and implementation of systems and operations for all clinical services within the Children’s Hospital FQHC locations (5220 Claremont, 5275 Claremont, 5400 Telegraph, McClymonds High School, Castlemont High School). This position provides supervision and oversight in the management of daily operations and administrative activities at multiple locations, so that operations are efficient, consistent, productive and supportive of successful maintenance and/or growth of services. The Director is responsible for ensure programmatic, financial and regulatory compliance.
The FQHC Director works collaboratively with the Physician Directors and Assistant Directors, other Administrative and Clinical Directors within the division in meeting the strategic goals of the Division, Ambulatory Services, and the Hospital. The FQHC Director is part of the overall UCSF BCH Primary Care Leadership Team and will partner to ensure the FQHC operations align with overarching system primary care strategies. This FQHC Director reports to the VP of Ambulatory and has matrixed accountability to the Executive Medical Director for Children’s Primary Care,
Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Health Administration preferred, or other experience and education in related field. Master’s Degree, Health Care Administration or Business preferred. Previous budgetary and accounting experience preferred Minimum Experience: At least five years practice management experience with a strong history of growth and profitability; experience dealing with insurance plans, experience with healthcare revenue cycle. Previous experience with administration of FQHC’s Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Significant knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry. Demonstrated knowledge of issues and trends that will affect the future of FQHC. Able to promote a constructive and positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to cooperate with and assist physicians, managers and staff. Able to be an effective problem solver through active problem identification and collaboration with other staff, physicians, providers, insurers, managers from other departments and Hospital Administration. Addresses problems on a timely basis and promptly institutes approved solutions. Able to use appropriate organizational skills in setting priorities for work. Able to resolve conflicts in a pro-active manner that demonstrates a high level of customer service. Technical Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Prior experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
