The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. This position will be responsible for development and maintenance of the M Health Fairview Acute Care Datamart. This includes work that will focus on improving clinical outcomes for patients with sepsis and other acute care conditions and associated research projects. The development and optimization of this datamart are integral to facilitate data to knowledge (D2K), a critical step to guide performance and quality improvement in clinical care.
The Sr Data Warehouse Analyst will be a technical leader on the data & analytics technology team. This position will be responsible for end-to-end data solutions, including business analysis, data analysis, SQL design and development, ETL requirements and design, unit testing, assisting users with UAT, and technical documentation. Must have the ability to understand business processes and their relationship with the data model and identify required ETL based on business process changes.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Develops, tests, and maintains the M Health Fairview Acute Care Datamart under the direction of the M Health Fairview / University of Minnesota Sepsis Research team
Completes database development tasks within a timely manner with task priority developed in collaboration with the sepsis research team
Maintains data dictionary for Acute Care Datamart and change log for Acute Care Datamart
Lead the implementation of data strategies by analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models that reduce data redundancy, streamline data movements, and improve enterprise information management.
Understands and analyzes business processes, and how they affect and integrate with the data model and ETL
Gathers, analyzes and develops, and refines requirements and technical specifications by acting as a liaison between technical and business departments in developing data marts, data models, and ETL assets.
Prior to coding the extract or ETL, analyzes data to determine data discrepancies, anomalies and outliers
Write SQL queries that clean, join, and extract data from our data warehouse to put together various types of analysis
Documents data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies and their related interfaces
Performs Unit testing and resolves defects
Mentors peers and junior members of the Information Management team
Ability to Create lifecycle documents, including Business Workflow Diagrams, Business Use Cases, User Stories, User Interface Design Documents in the documentation of functional requirements, workflows and solutions.

Required
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Engineering or another relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education
Experience
5 years experience in Data Warehousing
5 years experience SQL programming skills
5 years experience evaluating business requirements and translating them into a functional design
3 years experience with Clarity and Caboodle datasets
3 years experience with ETL programming and BI Reporting
3 years experience reporting & analyzing performance & data visualization
Proficient with Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of related emerging technologies and tools
