You Will Take On The Following Responsibilities
Train, motivate, and grow team members.
Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence.
Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive research computing project work.
Manage a team of software engineers, project managers and field support engineers in the maintenance of research computing systems and advanced technology needs for SKI research labs and faculty.
Plan, manage and direct all applications, hardware and IT consultants under research computing.Coordinate implementation of research systems with other infrastructure teams at MSKCC.
Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of complex technical projects.
Prepare and manage the annual budget for the group and participate in budgeting activities for the department.
Establish contingency plans when necessary escalates problems/issues to appropriate levels of management for resolution.
You Should Possess The Following Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
5+ years of experience in managing software development projects, provisioning of laptops and providing Mac OS support.
5+ years of experience in strategic planning and execution of onboarding high profile research faculty appointments. This includes familiarity with high end research instrumentation and supporting technologies.
