The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
The duties and responsibilities of the Geriatrician and Palliative medicine physician include but are not limited to the following: Outpatient clinical care including Dementia Clinic, Geriatric Clinic and other outpatient clinics as determined by Geriatrics Chief. These clinics may be performed face to face or by telehealth. Inpatient palliative medicine consults and other inpatient consultative services as directed by Medical Director of Geriatrics and Palliative Care. Coverage of night and weekend call, cross coverage for other providers and other coverage duties as directed by Medical Director of Geriatrics and Palliative Care. Teaching and supervision of trainees and other providers in all geriatric medicine and palliative medicine inpatient and outpatient settings. Teaching will be conducted in clinical and possibly didactic sessions. Development and improvement of educational programs for trainees and clinicians at facility. Indirect patient care including telephone, prescription and diagnostic test management to assist other VA providers in the care of geriatric patients. Team leadership of interdisciplinary teams, including, care coordination and care direction. Participates in the care provided to hospice and palliative patients on the CLC to include On-call duties as needed. Serves as, member of the Geriatrics & Extended Care Medical Staff, attending meetings, helping to assure adherence to its bylaws, rules and regulations.
