PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that the necessary pathology and radiology films are available for each conference, including those performed at an outside facility.
Compose case presentation packets that combine imaging, pathology, and office/consult notes from physicians who participate in the diagnostic workup and treatment of the patient being presented.
Track all cancer conference activity and monitor case presentation discussions for compliance with requirements from the American College of Surgeons accreditation programs.
Provide an annual report to the cancer committee and perform action items as needed to address problematic areas.
Notify physicians of conference agendas.
Coordinate with other departments for the site-specific conferences.
Coordinate any preparations needed the day of the meeting to ensure that the meetings start and end in a timely fashion.
Work with the Radiologist and Pathologist at the conferences to assist in navigating the computer during their presentations.
Ensure that the proper elements are discussed according to the Commission on Cancer guidelines.
Be able to attend the Breast Cancer Conference every Tuesday at 7:00 a.m., the Lung Cancer Conference the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 a.m. and the GI Cancer Conference at 7:00 a.m. the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.
Monitor conference frequency, multidisciplinary attendance, case presentation and adherence to conference policy.
Update the Cancer Registry Database for each patient discussed with information discussed at the cancer conference.
Work with the CME coordinator at Florida Hospital Tampa to ensure physicians
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient with computer programs with word processing (i.e.: Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to learn and use Cancer Registry software and other hospital systems.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to work directly with Physicians.
Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to deal with data that is of a sensitive and confidential nature.
Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The Cancer Conference Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating cancer conference activities per the standards set forth by the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancers (NAPRC) and per the needs set forth by AdventHealth Tampa.
