OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE - Provide moderately complex industrial engineering support for 150+ plasma collection centers and two testing labs, including work measurement studies, work flow analysis, workstation design, development of engineered labor standards and methods improvement.Â
- Responsible for workforce management, including direct labor budgeting and forecasting, hiring and staffing projections, scheduling system management and development of labor management tools and software solutions.Â
- Develop productivity and cost improvements through data analysis (including statistical analyses), modeling, simulation, application of Lean and Six Sigma tools and piloting of solutions.Â
- Through leadership of cross-functional project teams, manage improvement projects from inception through network rollout.Â
- Develop models for measurement, forecasting and optimization of collection capacity.Â
ACCOUNTABILITIES - Conduct work flow analyses, work measurement studies and operational studies to identify productivity improvements and estimate labor impact of process changes. Utilize time and motion studies, work sampling, Predetermined Motion Time Systems, and Lean Six Sigma tools.Â
- Partner with stakeholders on tactics to meet labor productivity targets. Escalate workforce planning and management challenges and recommend solutions.
- Design, recommend and implement solutions, methods and processes that will maximize labor productivity and efficiency for entire value stream. Identify and facilitate standardization of best practices.
- Budget and forecast labor demand, coordinate planning and monitoring of hiring and labor management, and report performance against plans and forecasts. Create and maintain engineered labor standards and staffing guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions and tools for workforce management, specifically supporting engineered labor standards, scheduling, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Use statistical analysis, simulation modeling and other advanced techniques to analyze and optimize the value stream, including donor flow and processing times. Develop methodology and model for measuring, planning, monitoring and forecasting capacity and utilization. Partner with data scientists and IT to develop advanced analytical models and solutions.
- Participate in identification and development of IT solutions (dashboards, data visualizations, reports) that enable real-time operations performance assessment and management.
- Participate on Transformation team and lead Transformation projects.
- As needed, perform business analytics to support tactical and strategic operations decisions.

- Requires ability to periodically work in a plasma center setting, which may include (but not limited to):
- Potential exposures to blood borne pathogens
- Complaince with all regulatory and SOP standards of the facility (including wearing PPE)
- Working in and around employees, donors, medical devices, needles, plasma units, freezers and warehousing
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Essential - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent training and experience
- At least 3 years of experience applying Industrial Engineering methods in healthcare, retail or other       multiunit enterprise
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with all levels, from center staff to senior management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
- Proven data analysis background with ability to process large datasets with complex formulas. Ability to transform analysis into insights, recommendations and proposals for senior management.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Sorting & Filtering Data Tables, Pivot Tables & Charts, V-Lookup, Index-Match). Intermediate PowerPoint skills.
- Experience developing and maintaining engineered labor standards
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Fluent in English
Desirable - Experience with simulation modeling and application of advanced statistics and operations research techniques
- Experience using or programming Power BI or other data visualization software
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
- Experience working in a regulated business
- Consulting experience in multiple industries
