The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) is seeking a full-time Board Certified or Board Eligible Pulmonologist to join our group of dedicated professionals. The Pulmologist will provide attending responsibilities for the Pulmonology Clinic in Specialty Care and will provide consultation support throughout the hospital. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible for a recruitment/relocation incentive. We are seeking a Neurologist with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care, a desire to work in a collaborative professional environment and enthusiasm for ongoing process improvement. Integrity, empathy, collegiality, and a strong work ethic are expected. Duties include but are not limited to: Inpatient and outpatient services. The physician will provide care for pulmonary diseases and disorders such as respiratory failure, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and chronic bronchitis, among many other conditions affecting the respiratory system and care for patients suffering from multi-system failure and other life-threatening situations, Outpatient Pulmonary clinic, interpretation of pulmonary function tests, inpatient consults (Ward, and ICU), routine pulmonary procedures. There is an Internal Medicine Residency Program and preceptorship for the pulmonary rotation for both students and Residents is expected. Adjunct faculty appointment at UAMS is available; pulmonary lectures are provided by the VHSO Pulmonary Staff. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call coverage is weekly (Monday to Monday) with every other weekend. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program within VHA. If selected for this position you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy 1021 and apply for EDRP within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
