This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more Major Duties/Responsibilities ~ Supports SLVHCS' mission for high quality, safe, well-coordinated care by collaborating effectively with Quality Management, Patient Safety, Performance Excellence, and the Clinical Service Chiefs to strategically align improvement activities with facility goals. ~ Serves as the facility physician champion for quality of care outcome measures, safe patient care processes, and high value care initiatives by establishing physician engagement and ownership in these domains throughout the clinical services. ~ Will be a subject matter expert in clinical quality of care measures {including those in Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning (SAIL), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare, and Mission Act Quality Standards}, process improvement and systems redesign methodologies, and patient safety analysis tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Healthcare Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (HFMEA). ~ Work with the clinical services, identify vulnerabilities, and develop processes and programs that advance safe, high quality patient care delivery across the continuum of care and align facility goals with frontline staff goals. ~ Serve as the physician quality champion in various facility committees as designated by supervisor. ~ Other duties as assigned.
