The Fayetteville VAMC is actively seeking a well-qualified Physician with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to serve as the Deputy Chief of Medicine at the Fayetteville VAMC. Maximum salary will be determined based on clinical specialty hired for position. Note: A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive may be available for highly qualified applicants. The incumbent will provide administrative, programmatic, and clinical leadership under the Chief of Medical Service to ensure achievement of the clinical, research, and education goals. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Medicine and acts Chief of Medicine when required also serves as a key clinical resource for the Chief of Medicine and the Chief of Staff. Duties include but not limited to: Demonstrate commitment to an interdisciplinary approach to care delivery; Ability to coordinate a broad continuum of programs; Management experience with strong administrative and interpersonal skills; Plans the provision of services with a patient centered vision so as to enhance patient education and shared decision making; Actively identifies and encouraged the implementation of best practices in customer service; Plans, coordinates, and ensures high quality care through utilization of multiple quality measurement tools; Continuously assesses and improves the processes of care delivery in the service so as to enhance patient safety; Encourages and supports research and education missions. Facilitates translation of research findings into improved patient outcomes. Creates a climate where continuous learning and self development are valued. Plans initiatives and develops programs in collaboration with other services in order to ensure coordination of service, reduction of redundancies, and enhancement of cast effectiveness; Provides a clear vision of he future and leads the service through necessary changes; Develops a team that is creative in it efforts to build and maintain a cost-effective, integrated health care system; and Builds partnerships with the community to enhance Medical Center goals.
