The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
The position is located in operative care service of the Portland VA Health Care System and will provide a complete range of anesthetic care of patients including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative anesthetic administration and monitoring, and post-anesthesia care in compliance with national accreditation standards. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following: Provides anesthesia-related direct patient care in all functional areas of the operating room, intensive care unit, ward, and clinic settings as needed, including on-call coverage. Provides anesthesia-related training to qualified residents and students in these setting in accordance with supervision policies and procedures. Satisfies anesthesia-related documentation requirements and continuing education requirements. Participates in development and implementation of program philosophy, objectives, plans, policies, and standards essential to delivery of quality anesthetic care. Participates in activities to improve anesthesia-related outcomes and efficiencies including regular participation in morbidity and mortality conferences, staff meetings, and other relevant activities. Established and promotes an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between disciplines throughout the facility. Fosters a high level of patient and staff satisfaction.
