Provide administrative and operational support to the Director and supplemental support for the Directors research laboratory staff
Assist Tri-I Administrative Specialist in coordinating meetings/events related to Admissions, MD-PhD Courses, office hours, special events, and seminars
Prepare and distribute correspondence and Tri-I program materials to faculty, students, alumni, and applicants; assisting in the outreach to increase the diversity of the applicant and student pool
Assist in preparation of the quinquennial Medical Scientist Training Program grant and the annual Progress Reports
Assist with the development, planning, and execution of various projects to support the departmental operations and laboratory
Provide standard grant development and budgeting support
Assist in the compilation of program data and performance metrics in support of periodic reporting requirements and budgeting obligations
Coordinate recruitment, the appointment of new laboratory staff, and trainees for the labs
Assist in acquisition and inventory management for supplies and equipment to include equipment maintenance and purchasing-related matters
Reliable, able to work with confidential materials, and work independently
A self-starter and excellent teammate, adept at creating partnerships with a diverse team of investigators and administrative personnel, and institutions
An excellent communicator who can use interpersonal skills to partner with the full range of clients and partners and function effectively in diverse settings
Capable of working independently, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and working with different offices and institutions
Highly organized with excellent proofreading, writing, and communication skills
Willing to learn new skills and software
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications and solid understanding of spreadsheets and database management
Proven ability in an academic/research office setting
Ability to do scientific word processing (including equations) and manuscript formatting
Experience in standard grant development concepts, practices, and procedures in a research environment preferred
