The System Director of Human Resources is accountable for the continuous, evolving human resources and human relations programs of CHRISTUS Health System Office, including fostering interdisciplinary collaborative relationships with CHRISTUS organizational and leadership staff. Accountability includes the direct and indirect supervision of all Human Resources functions. In addition, the System Director of Human Resources is accountable for supporting strategic and operational integration of Human Resources practices across the CHRISTUS system office and may act for the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer in assuring the effective implementation of unified HR services throughout CHRISTUS Health.
BS/BA degree or equivalent practical experience.
Masterâ€™s Degree, preferred
10+ yearsâ€™ experience in the HR field, including supervisory/management experience.
An in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of employee relations laws and technology, as well as basic statistics
Seven to ten years' progressively more responsible related work experience, (with approximately three years in health care preferred
Previous experience in standardizing HR functions in a health care system or other complex organization is preferred, with working knowledge of total rewards, HRIS, workforce planning/recruiting, organizational development, training is highly preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
SHRM Certified ProfessionalÂ preferred
Analyze, develop and implement a performance review process that allows for efficient employee evaluation for promotion or compensation consideration; coach, train and develop managers to be highly effective; Assist in appraisal of yearlong employee work results by helping managers to provide career planning, coach and discipline employees.
Provide management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending company policies and procedures.
In association with management, schedule company meetings/announcements with employees; hearing and resolving employee personal or company grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
Approve invoices; oversees leaves of absence and paid time off (PTO).
Establish contacts with management and staff by being visible and actively engaging with them.
Ensure legal compliance and staying abreast of applicable federal and state requirements; conduct investigations; maintain records; represent the organization at hearings. Contact attorney as needed.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
