As a staff physician, Pulmonary/Critical care, the responsibilities include providing medical evaluation and directing overall management of f patients in collaboration with other members of health care team. Supervision and education of Internal Medicine Residents and medical students from University of Nevada, School of Medicine, is required. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following: · Provide consultative services and follow up for inpatient and outpatient pulmonary patients. Inpatient discharge planning to include collaboration with the hospitalists and proper hand off at the end of shifts, as necessary. Inpatient progress notes and specific documentation for resident supervision is required. Quality of care should meet professional standards at all times Performs the following functions: Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments for all Pulmonary patients Provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of IM/Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine. Participate in Pulmonary and other Critical Care related committees and pulmonary conferences Participate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators. Practice within the scope of assigned privileges. Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agency. Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME. Comply with prescribed record keeping practices in accordance with the rules, regulations and bylaws.
