JOB SUMMARY The Director of Quality Management Programs provides leadership and is responsible for the regional implementation of the Quality and Patient Safety Program that aligns with the strategic initiatives of the Baylor Scott & White Health System. The Director facilitates all aspects of quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement activities in the facilities assigned, including reporting to senior leadership. Additionally, this position directs and coordinates compliance with regulatory requirements related to quality management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE The Director of Quality Management Programs serves as the liaison to the CMO and CNO regarding regional based issues and activities. The Director assesses program compliance with accreditation standards and regulations related to clinical care in collaboration with regional leadership and staff and conducts annual evaluation of program and provides Annual Report to System QPSC regarding patient safety and quality management. The Director manages the department budget, determines fiscal requirements and serves as the key leader and facilitator of the Quality and Patient Safety Plan as it applies to the Temple region.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS The ideal candidate must have knowledge of project management, application of quality tools and methods, key quality and regulatory agencies (JCAHO, IHI, NAHQ, NCQA), and strong speaking and presentation skills. A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other clinical professional field, a CPHQ certification or eligibility for certification within 12 months of hire, and experience in an acute care or office based clinical practice is required. A Master's degree (e.g., MA, MS, MBA, MSN, MSW) or equivalent (e.g., CPA, PE, etc.) and quality, management or supervisory experience is preferred.
