The Staff Physician works in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Health Care Group (PM&R HCG) at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System in Long Beach, CA. The Staff Physician will provide services to the outpatient PM&R clinic and report to the Chief of PM&R. Major responsibilities and duties of the position include but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive assessments (including appropriate history and physical examinations), diagnostic work-up, clinic intervention (may include musculoskeletal and soft tissue injections). Records/documents health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, orders medication, diagnostic tests and/or referrals. Demonstrates competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychosocial status of patients needed rehabilitative services. Completes documentation within 24 hours of encounters through CPRS Adheres to federal and state laws as well as VA polices Works efficiently with patients, families, members of multi-disciplinary teams and other VALBHS staff.
