The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.
SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: To conduct independent and directed scientific studies and research in support of a Principal Investigator's research
Scope: Provides care based on clinical care needs of animals and understands phenotypical behaviors and/or procedure related outcomes in animals. Competent to support USDA animal care requirements
???Animal Care Performs daily work involving the handling of conventional and genetically engineered animal models with varying health status. Animals may be recovering from surgical or invasive procedures and may have various biosafety levels.
???Clinical Care of Animals Provide for the clinical care needs of laboratory and USDA animals as per the treatment guidelines and is able to administer treatments for clinical conditions. Use the unique phenotypical behaviors and/or procedure related outcomes in laboratory and USDA animals. Use the IACUC procedures as described in protocol and anticipated animal conditions related to protocols.
???Evaluate and Document Document the animals' needs and medical record needs as applicable for laboratory and USDA animals to comply with proper care standards and regualtory bodies. Assess the breeding performance of animal colonies & evaluates the necessary enrichment and environmental needs and modifications.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand for duration of shift, perform repetitive physical activities such as: pushing and pulling wheeled racks and carts, utilize a ladder or step stool, lift above shoulder level, reaching, stooping, and bending
