In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Manager to join our growing Development Operations team.

The Knowledge Manager will ensure that teams can access the information they need to do their work. You create department-wide structures through which knowledge is recorded and shared. You will spearhead the development of all technical documentation and manage the structure, content, and usability of our internal knowledge base. This role provides a key link between end-users, technical staff, stakeholders, and leadership.
The Development Operations team is responsible for the technical infrastructure and business operations that support the Development Department. We aim to increase MSK's fundraising potential through the creation of innovative technology and process solutions.
You will:
- Develop department-wide strategies to improve the consistent transfer of knowledge across teams and roles and promote collaboration
- Learn highly detailed processes from various subject matter experts to produce high-quality documentation including user guides, functional specifications, and standard operating procedures
- Translate between technical and business terminology and frameworks, including analysis of all documentation for clarity, cohesion, style, and continuity
- Proactively manage content to meet the changing needs of a dynamic work environment
- Identify and explore shortfalls within our current system and make recommendations for improvement to design, process, and data management
- Act as an expert in Development policies and procedures
You are:
- An effective communicator, capable of resolving how best to reach different audiences and executing explanatory and procedural styles based on that understanding
- A quick learner, able to independently gather information from subject matter experts to learn the intricacies of the software and business processes
- Able to work effectively in an environment notable for complex, sometimes contradictory information
- Adaptable and resilient, willing to try different courses of action to overcome difficulties
- Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals
- Willing to discover creative, innovative ways of doing things and having the courage to pursue them
You have:
- 4-7 years of technical writing, knowledgebase management, or business analysis experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research skills including interviewing, gathering, and analyzing data from multiple resources
- Good technical skills and experience with the software development lifecycle
Nice to have:
- Experience with Blackbaud CRM or other fundraising and relationship management software
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet
Location: This is a remote position but may require you to come to the New York City office for team meetings up to 9 days a year.
