The "Director of Analytics" will lead and manage the following areas: (1) data governance program (2) data and analytics process improvement (3) data and analytics organizational alignment. This role reports to Vice President, Enterprise Data and Analytics. This role's peers include: "Director of Analytics (Data Management and BI)" and "Director of Analytics (ACHC)".
Collaborates closely with the "Director of Analytics (Data Management and BI)" and "Director of Analytics (ACHC)" to ensure the enterprise data environment meets the needs of the Akron Children's Hospital and Akron Children's Health Collaborative's overall strategic priorities
Engages key stakeholders across care settings and locations to develop and maintain the enterprise road map for data governance, data and analytics process continuous improvement, and enterprise-wide talent alignment focused on embedded data and analytics professionals
Leads the implementation of data governance program: data catalog, data quality, data lineage, master data management framework, data governance stewardship, communication, training, support plan & adoption
Leads the process to review, design, and implement an action plan on data and analytics process continuous improvement: data-centered system's design, major components, relationship and configuration, workflow, reference architecture, communication, training, support plan and adoption, while supporting and collaborating with data management and business intelligence areas
Identifies the needs and specific major use cases, and create the capabilities that suit the need of solving such use cases
Works collaboratively with other divisions and departments (including clinical, operational, contracting, research, and financial stakeholders) across the enterprise to execute healthcare access, quality, and care coordination improvement initiatives across the network
Develops new or refine existing metrics and measurements, operating efficiency (scheduling, utilization, workflow streamlining, automation, etc.), activity-based cost accounting (by various dimensions including: procedure, disease state, sub-population of patients, treatment pathway, etc.), risk stratification, predictive modeling, prescriptive analytics, and other methodologies to achieve the strategic objectives of improving pediatric care outcome / quality / experience, while reducing overall cost and improving effectiveness and efficiency of care delivery.
Champions data relevance, accuracy, validation, access, workflow/ mapping initiatives, end-user and consumer self-service on descriptive and diagnostic analytics, and democratization of data and analytics
Provides regular updates to executive leadership team & holds broad enterprise education sessions regarding the current/ future states of the Akron Children's Hospital and Akron Children's Health Collaborative's data & analytics architecture
Coaches and develops team members by providing direction and managing team performance to achieve and exceed company goals and expectations
Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls
Other duties as required.
Proficiency in the technology and analytics related to the administration of provider and/or managed care health insurance networks, including those related to Clinically Integrated Networks (CIN) or Accountable Care Organizations (ACO)
Proficiency in relevant data and analytics tools (such as Epic, R, Python, Qlik, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software) is required
Experience working with all levels within an organization is strongly preferred
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration or Statistics or relevant field preferred.
Relevant work experience: Three (3) years of experience with leadership and strategic program execution in healthcare analytics environment required, preferably with proven success in population health programs. Eight (8) or more years preferred.
Experience supervising: Three (3) years required. Five (5) or more years preferred.
Working knowledge of value-based provider payment and delivery models
Capacity to lead complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives in coordination with key stakeholders
Excellent written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including ability to present complex technical concepts to audiences with varying levels of understanding
