Job Summary
The Manager for Business Intelligence Population Health is responsible for leading a team of Business Intelligence Analysts in providing population health analytics for Geisinger Health Plan and Geisinger enterprise-wide population health programs. The position is a senior-level, supervisory role providing daily operational leadership and functioning as a strategic business partner who maintains leadership level relationships. They will strive to understand the strategic and operational needs of the business, provide direction and guidance to business partners, facilitate the prioritization of requests, and guide analyst growth and development.
Job Duties
- Serves as subject matter expert for population health analytics, understanding organizational needs, prioritizing requests, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with business and analytic functional areas.
- Collaborates regularly with management team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to review business requests, priorities, and requirements.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the enterprise analytics landscape, capabilities, and resources and utilizes this knowledge to improve data literacy with business stakeholders.
- Manages the feedback loop to the business for existing requests and on-going projects to create visibility; assists in prioritization of new requests based on strategic plans, level of effort, and resource constraints.
- Assists business partners as needed in navigating the demand management process, submitting requests, and utilizing analytic tools and resources.
- Contributes to the development of analytic processes, standard operating procedures, and new infrastructure development that supports population health analytics for the organization.
- Coaches and mentors team members.
- Provides daily operational management for a team of analysts.
- Gathers requirements and defines scope independently on projects of all size.
- Plans and leads projects and provides time and effort estimates based on requirements gathering.
- Mastery of data literacy - able to identify and derive key insights from data.
- Responsible for following data governance and stewardship practices as defined.

Position Details
Strong candidates will have:
- Existing experience with population health analytics
- A working knowledge of analytic development and SQL coding
- Customer-facing experience leading visual design discussions and requirements gathering
- Experience optimizing analytic delivery through streamlined processes, procedures, and analytic automation
- Skills in mentorship, coaching, and identifying training opportunities for staff development
- Comfort facilitating work within a collaborative environment on multi-disciplinary teams to identify creative, technical solutions
Education
Associate's Degree-Related Field of Study (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum of 8 years-Related work experience (Required), Minimum of 2 years-Managing people, processes, or projects (Required)
