JOB SUMMARY:

The Research Analyst will provide support for a neurosurgical human neurophysiology research laboratory. The lab uses recordings from intracranial electrodes inside and outside of the operating room setting as well as functional imaging methods to study neural circuits underlying cognitive and emotional processes, with the ultimate goal of developing novel neuromodulation therapies. The RA will assist in data collection, organization, processing, and analysis. They will coordinate, communicate with, and track subjects and maintain IRB protocols. They will interact with patients to recruit them to participate in ongoing studies, consent them for study participation, and collect study data. They will also assist in the analysis of data including local field potential and imaging data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with recruiting research participants
• Communicate and coordinate with study participants
• Perform data collection: run computer-based tasks with subjects while capturing neurophysiology data, administer study questionnaires, etc
• May assist in imaging data collection
• Maintain and organize study data
• Assist with data processing and analysis
• Create and maintain research database
• Assist with creating and maintaining IRB protocols
• Help monitor and maintain research equipment and computers
• Monitor and maintain inventory control
• Opportunity to participate in manuscript preparation and publication

Basic computer and software proficiency: MS Word, Excel, etc.; Computer programming is a plus but not required.
