Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full time PhD Medical Physicist to join our team in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Baylor Scott & White Round Rock Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be joining 1 physicist, 2 dosimetrists, and 2 physicians. The clinic uses two Varian Truebeams in conjunction with Eclipse/ARIA and a Varian GammaMed HDR unit in conjunction with Brachyvision to perform a variety of treatments including SBRT, SRS, and HDR. This is an employed position with a competitive salary, moving allowance, a comprehensive benefits package and no state income tax.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Routine quality assurance of machines and software within the department.
Presence at special procedures requiring physicist involvement.
Perform, evaluate, and supervise treatment planning.
Patient related dosimetric measurements.
Provide consultation to physicians, staff, and patients as needed.
Acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment/treatment modalities.
Maintain departmental compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain licensure and certification.
The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills and comport themselves in a professional manner. They should possess good working knowledge of technology used in radiation oncology (treatment machines, detectors, software, etc.), good clinical judgement, and understanding of radiation oncology workflows. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in medical physics (or related field), board eligibility with the American Board of Radiology, and Licensure in the State of Texas as a medical physicist by the start date.
